Why This Was Not a Standard Project

Business card scanners output data in inconsistent formats. Names, titles, and phone numbers need cleaning before CRM import.

The automation needed to handle duplicate detection (the same person might already exist in HubSpot from a previous event or website visit) and merge data appropriately.

Technix built a Zapier integration that connected the card scanning app to HubSpot with data cleaning steps in between. Duplicate detection checked existing contacts before creating new ones. If a match was found, the workflow updated the existing contact with event attendance data instead of creating a duplicate.
